2007 Annual General Meeting - Karl Terzaghi: Path of Discovery to Filter Design
Jonathan Fannin, University of British Columbia
About the speakers:
Jonathan Fannin has longstanding research interests on ground improvement with geosynthetics (in collaboration with industry), landslide risk assessment (in collaboration with government and industry), and internal stability analysis of granular filters (in collaboration with BC Hydro). He is a recipient of the 4th International Geosynthetics Society (IGS) Award for contributions of laboratory and field research to engineering practice, a CGS Quigley Award for the best paper in the Canadian Geotechnical Journal, a Visiting Senior Scientist Award from the French Government, a United Nations Award for Academic Exchange and, most recently, a Karl Terzaghi Fellowship from the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute.
