6th Annual Applied Geotechnical Engineering Design Contest Reinforced Soil Wall

The University of Alberta's annual Reinforced Soil Wall Contest challenges student teams to build a wall within 1 hour, using only 5 sheets of newsprint (from the Gateway), 2 sheets of 15 X 30 cm geotextile, a box of 100 paper clips and 20 popsicle sticks. Come and support the next crop of geotechnical engineers.

Location: L2-020 Markin/CNRL Natural Resources Engineering Facility, University of Alberta
Time: Wall construction starts at 4:30pm (in NREF L2-110), Testing starts at 6:00pm
